The breeding and quality of horse just doesn't get any better than this! He is sweet and easy going in temperment, 14.2 hands and has been used exclusively in the past for a breeding program. He has a nice gait and is a wonderful addition to my small herd!! Sundown was bred to a few of my mares for 2008 foals and he will be offered in the spring of 2008 for AI. He will be standing in KY in the early spring and if then most likely back to California in late spring for breeding on the west coast. He was just a joy to ride around the horse park at the 2007 RMHA international show.........and this all from a stallion that hasn't been ridden in nearly 8 years. He is so natural in his gait and has a very natural head set. He gaits bareback and barefoot in a halter! This is the epitome of the old rocky mountain horse!

SUMMER'S BLACK KNIGHT There are only a handful of really quality black stallions in the Rocky breed that have the wonderful temperment, gait and beauty. I have offered to put SUMMER'S BLACK KNIGHT on my site because he is the epitome of a rocky mountain stallion. I bred a mare to him and the resulting stallion quality colt, Chico is absolutely a wonderful example of what fine offspring Knight sires. You can see Chico on the "photo album" page. I will this year be breeding another mare to Chico because he is so awesome!! Knight (barn name "General") is a 1999 triple registered RMHA/KMSHA/AGHA stallion that is true black with just a tiny teardrop star. He has ! all the attributes of the old mountain horse bloodlines. He stands 15.1 hands with a beautiful head, small foxtail ears, short back and a wide chest. He is built for gait and comfort!

His pedigree comes from old bloodlines and champions. He is sired by Watkin's Dusty Wade (RMHA Champion) and out of a conformation champion mare, Callie. His grandsires include such wonderful lines as Buddy Roe, Ramblin Rex and Doc giving him the qualities of gracefullness, temperment and presence and above all gait!! Knight carries himself with pride and presence, both on the rail and on the trail. He is always trying to please his rider and can be ridden by all levels of rider and will safely carry even novices out for a wonderful trail ride. You can often see Knight at the RMHA International show gaiting around the barns bareback in a halter. Knight has been in the ribbons including being the 2002 RMHA FL State owned/trained/ridden amateur Champion. For compete show record and more info on breeding to this wonderful stallion, contact his owner, John Haddix at Summer Shade Stables, in Winchester, KY at jhaddix@winchesterky.com AI available/LFG

GREEN FARM'S CHICO BLUE Chico is a 2003 dark bay stallion - sired by Black Knight and out of a top producing Amigo Blue daughter, Blue Mountain Holly. He is the epitome of the rocky mountain horse - displaying wonderful gaits, temperment and of course that beautiful dark bay color. There are very few bay stallions in the breed registry that can compare to Chico.

His conformation is flawless and he has just a little star as his only marking. He is 15.0 hands. Chico comes from wonderful old blood lines, such as Buddy Roe, Ramblin Rex, Doc and Amigo Blue. He is triple certified RMHA, KMSHA and AGMHA. Alot of people would have chosen to geld a bay colt - but this boy was so flashy and well gaited that he deserved to be kept a stallion!! Chico is red gene negative and because bay is a dominent color modifier - you will get a buckskin every time when he breeds to double creme dilutes - such as cremellas, perlinas and smokey cremes. If your mare carries the silver dapple gene - you might be so lucky as to get a silver buckskin - wow!! Even when bred to palominos, buckskins and smokey blacks, you will have a 50% chance of getting buckskin when bred to Chico. I plan to breed two palomino mares to him myself this year. I just love buckskins!!! Chico will be standing for the 2006 breeding season at Summershade Stables and continuing to show and trail ride along side his sire, Knight. You can contact John Haddix for more breeding information. His introductory stud fee is $250. AI is available with LFG. Chico's Dam - Blue Mountain Holly
