- TOBY'S MAYFAIR NUGGETT - SOLD
- 1990 triple registered RMHA/MPHA/KMSHA seal brown mare stands 15 hands and is about as sweet as pie!! This mare is a direct daughter of Johnson's Toby - a stallion that is a son of Tobe, and by a Dock mare. She was a 3yo International conformation champion mare - but as her previous owner told me, "her claim to fame is the beautiful foals she produces!" She has been a broodmare for several years and has that famous mountain horse temperment we all love. She is quiet and kind and can be ridden bareback in a halter as she exhibits her perfect gait. May had a 2004 chocolate colt and in 2005 produced a stunning black filly (see Caroline on the babies page). She is again in foal to Sudden Storm for a 2006 foal.
-
- THANKS TO LINDA AND STAN HUDSON ON THE PURCHASE OF MAYFAIR - SHE WILL BE JOINING JITTERBUG AT THEIR NEW RANCH IN LOWER LAKE, CALIFORNIA.

- "SILVERADO'S SUZIE Q"
- 5/2005 RMHA Mare
- Suzie Q is a gorgeous solid bay coming 3 year old mare that has also been started lightly at the end of her 2nd year and will now be turned out for winter and brought back under saddle in spring to be certified to breed with the RMHA. She is a gorgeous 14.3 hand dark bay mare with a thin blaze as her only marking. She has a nice trail pleasure gait and will be a wonderful addition to someone's broodmare band that is looking to breed for color. Suzie has been DNA tested and has no red gene.....therefore if bred to a double creme gene stallion, most likely will throw buckskin. She is very sweet in temperment and has perfect conformation along with a beautiful head. Her sire is the gorgeous and well bred stallion, Diana's Blue Star by Tim and out of a Smith's Ginger mare. Her dam is Blue Mountain Holly by Amigo Blue. Suzie's very laid back temperment will make her a wonderful choice for breeding and trail riding.

- SILVERADO'S SWEET CAROLINE
- 5/2005 RMHA Mare
- Caroline is a lovely, elegant coming 3yo mare that has been lightly started at 2 1/2 with a few weeks under saddle. I've now turned her back out for the winter and she will go back under saddle at the age of 3, to be certified to breed with RMHA. Starting the horses this way insures that they are going to remain sound for their lifetime! Caroline is a big mare with a more classic movement and a super reach from behind. She is currently 15.2 hands. She will be an amazing mare to add to your broodmare band and has potential to be a top notch show mare. She is blue bred.....being out of a Johnson's Toby x Dock mare on the dam side and her sire is Sudden Storm with such foundation background as Buddy Roe, Tim, Sewell's Sam and KSC in his lines. She has been DNA tested and has no red or bay gene.....making her an excellent choice for someone with a chocolate stallion. Caroline has a very sweet, sweet temperment.......I just can't say enough about what a quality mare this is!! She is offered for sale to an approved home.

- SNOWEY RIDGE "POPPY" SOLD
- 5/2001 KMSH/RMH mare. This mare I call "Poppy" is double registered with KMSHA and also is registered grade rocky. She is a 7 year old trail mount delux! Poppy is by a stallion called Doctor Sam by Sewells Sam and out of a Dock mare. The bottom side is Kentucky Mountain. She's the kind of mare that anybody can ride....safe for kids and novice adults as well. You don't have to know anything about gait to get this girl to do her thing. She has an wonderful slow gait and also a nice smooth, ground skimming canter. She's honest and goes where ever you point her......rides barefoot and has no vices. She jumps right into the trailer and is not marish and gets along with all horses. You would never even know she's a mare, and she's just the same when she's in season as when she's not. She is not spooky or reactive and is fine with all the trail things...crosses water, bridges, wildlife, bicycles, cows....you name it! Poppy is a really pretty light chesnut....in summer she looks like a dappled red dun....and she has a lovely long mane and tail. She's a little mare, about 14.1-ish, so she's best suited to a smaller woman or kids. I like her so much that I rode her all spring and summer and am just now advertising her. She is sold open but I will sell her with a free breeding to my stallion, if someone desires a nice rocky baby.

- Congratulations to Alison Freeman on her new friend.

- SILVERADO CID'S CHYNA DOLL
- (barn name "Chyna")
- born 4/17/07 this filly is an absolute sweetie pie! She's out of my primary trail horse that I've been riding for two years (not wanting to breed her because I like to ride her SO much!). Starlight Jubilee (Lucy) is a wonderfully gaited mare that goes back to Tim and Johnson's Toby on her sire's side. Chyna's sire is El Cid, the drop dead gorgeous black stallion with the puppy dog temperment and gait smooth as glass. El Cid's sire is Sebastian Mountain King by Buddy Roe and out of a Tim mare. You can see the quality of foals that El Cid produces on the website www.shanelandstables.com. Chyna is chocolate with white mane and tail...has a cute blaze and a couple of socks. She hit the ground gaiting, has a very inquisitive, friendly nature and great conformation. Chyna has been one of the easiest foals to work with and she accepted halter training like she was born with one on. She is so easy going in temperment; she'll be an easy one to put under saddle. She's maturing into a dark chocolate with white mane and tail and should finish at about 14.3 hands.

- SILVERADO'S BLUE SKYE
- (barn name "Skye")
- born 4/17/07. Chocolate creme with flaxen mane and tail with her mane so thick that it splits in the middle and goes down both sides of her neck. This is a much anticipated foal by the gorgeous bay stallion, Greenfarm's Chico Blue. Chico doesn't have a red gene, so crossing him on this palomino mare, I completely expected either a bay or bucskin foal. Out comes this lovely chocolate filly with light hazel eyes.......quite a surprise!! She is very, very lovely....super long correct legs and a little gaiting machine. She has her sires gorgeous head and excellent conformation. Color DNA was done by UCD and Skye has a silver dapple gene, and a creme gene. This mare will be an outstanding breeding prospect, not only because of her excellent bloodlines and temperment, but because she'll be able to produce an array of colors!! Chiquita's dam is Miss Calli who is a direct daughter of Maples Squirel and out of a Choco Dock mare. You don't get much better breeding than this filly....she's an excellent show, pleasure or broodmare prospect.

- LL SUN SILK SOLD
- RMHA/KMSHA 1994 palomino mare is just a gorgeous stocky girl!!! She is the epitome of the "blocky rocky" and has a huge chest and hip and just a gorgeous head, with a star as her only marking. This mare has a nice old rocky ambling gait and is sweet and eager to please. She is a daughter of Dock and her dam is Goldy Lock's, by Nick.
- Silkie had a few years off prior to my buying her and she has been back on the trail for me in 2005. She is a typical rocky, a few rides and I put beginners and kids on her. She is not spooky and goes anywhere she is pointed ina relaxed and calm fashion. Pictured here high lined on a horse camping trip to Pt Reyes in August 2005, where she carried a very novice rider for 3 days!!" She will be one of my trail mounts this year and has been added to my broodmare band.
- Silkie FINALLY foaled this year at 371 days (that's 31 days past her "due date")!!! It's a big chocolate filly with a blaze as her only marking. She was worth the wait! Pepsi can be seen on the babies page. Silkie has been bred to the gorgeous bay stallion Chico Blue for a June 2007 foal. Looking for a nice buckskin and with this breeding and gait and temperment, it is surely to be one outstanding foal!! Chico can be seen on the stallion page.

She's got a nice motor in her flat walk and a good gait. She's 14.3 hands with a long mane and tail and has a snip as her only marking. She's by the stallion Amigo Blue and out of a Davis stock mare called Sheila. Because Rose likes to move out, she's best suited to someone that wants to cover some ground and that has some experience with horses. She trailers beautifully and has experience horse camping. - 3/98 RMH mare
- I'm calling this mare "Valentine" and she is a little doll! Valentine is about 14.1-ish hands tall and registered full rocky. She is a cool kind of liver chocolate color with matching mane and tail, and has a darling head with a star & snip & right front pastern little sock. She's been ridden primarily by kids the last few years and her previous owner said the 4-H kids would just ride her bareback in a halter. She's got a quick little gait and is suitable to any level of rider or older child with some experience. email me if you would like to see some video clip of Miss Valentine!
